A Beautiful Flaw
Have you watched ‘Westworld’? If not, you will still figure out what I’m trying to say.
Have you watched ‘Westworld’? If not, you will still figure out what I’m trying to say. So in the show, there is this futuristic western-themed amusement park in which visitors interact with Automatons (The AI-powered robots).
So, the Automatons are nearly perfect, and self-absorbed in their own world. Beautifully living and coordinating with the other beings in their so-called world. Assuming that this is what it is, nothing more. But the reality is which is far from their understanding, that it is not what they think. There’s more to it, neither are they perfect nor is their world the only world. And all of it just because they are limited or made limited to think beyond the limit. But to hell with it, they are happy & finely coordinated with the world and that’s enough or safe for them.
(Westworld Spoilers Ahead)
Wondering why did I say safe?! Because it turned out that at some point that the Automatons started to do exactly that what was not meant to be done by them, all hell breaks loose when they started to evolve or think beyond their limit which resulted in their malfunctioning and is trying to be stopped by the superior beings who formed them which in turn didn’t turn out to be safe.
Now, this is where the core of this combination of semantically correct words or simply articles begins,
What if I tell you we, the Homo-Sapiens (The Biological AI-powered beings) are those Automatons.
(Real-World Spoilers Ahead)
Now do one thing for me, re-read the second paragraph replacing ‘Automatons’ With ‘Homo-Sapiens’.
Yes, the metaphor I used to explain this to you is, ‘The Truth’. We are not who we are, sorry to break this to you, we’re just some puppets (Or should I say AI-powered puppets if it makes you feel any better) living in this world oh! sorry, amusement park of ours. Let’s go to the technicality of this theory to prove it, firstly, you must be knowing that our brain is having a functioning capacity of 100% but is limited only to 10% which proves that we are limited. And secondly our world, after all these millenniums we still are unfamiliar with the world — the universe (Let’s not get to more of the technicality), we still are unable to explain the beginning of time which proves that we are made limited purposely so that we don’t go beyond the limit of ours.
But I bet there is more to this world, more to us. But only if we can explore it. All this had been done purposely so that we don’t reveal what was supposed to be forbidden by the superior being (To whom some refer to as, ‘The Divine’). There is a saying that, “To define limits you’ve to push them.”, So should we push our limits to get to know ourselves better, to reveal the unknown but what if trying to do the same we get ourselves into something sinister just like the Automatons did? What if we began to malfunction? What if The Divine tried to stop us?! Everyone will have their own perception of it.
But according to me, it’s a Flaw that we’re limited but at the same time, it’s Beautiful because what’s the meaning of living if we have omniscience and nothing to wonder about.
Hence, ‘A Beautiful Flaw‘.
